Vibra-Pad®
Concrete Solution Found For Sluggish Cement Problem

At Overland Ready Mix Sand and Gravel, inconsistent cement flow from storage bins was slowing the company’s batching operation. Ball-type aeration pads failed to even out the cement as it flowed by gravity to weighting scales from two 180 ton silos. Cloth-style aeration pads also did not work. Cyclonaire VibraPad aerators, however, have proved to be very effective. VibraPad’s design both aerates the material and creates vibration between the pad’s boot and the silo wall. With the pads installed, silo operators simply turn on the blowers whenever a bridge develops in the material and for 30 sec just before feeding cement into the scales. According to Overland’s Plant Manager Dan Rosenquist, “We have cut our batch preparation time in half. VibraPad aerators paid for themselves just by eliminating flow-related downtime.”
